Mendoza benched for now; Kubiak has no timeline for rookie QB's debut.

Fernando Mendoza, the Raiders' No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, will not take over as starting quarterback in the immediate future despite Vegas' four-game losing streak. Head coach Klint Kubiak stated 'Eventually, Fernando is going to play football. We have a plan. We don't have a timeline for that' and 'Fernando is gonna play at some point. It's not gonna be this week.' Kubiak indicated the decision to switch quarterbacks will be his alone to make.
