Mendoza won't start Week 8 vs Jets; Raiders sticking with Kirk Cousins.

Despite rumblings that the Las Vegas Raiders were on the verge of giving top overall pick Fernando Mendoza his first career start in Week 8 against the New York Jets, the team has decided to stick with veteran Kirk Cousins at quarterback. Raiders HC Klint Kubiak confirmed Mendoza will not start this week, stating 'Fernando [Mendoza] is gonna play at some point, it's not gonna be this week.' The Raiders have lost four consecutive games after a 3-0 start, but the team is not yet inserting the high-drafted rookie despite the losing streak.
