Josh Jacobs [8] motions out at the snap, giving him outside leverage on his defender...Jacobs would be the Alert (throw this at the top of the drop if given a specific look or simply don't look at it at all after an initial assessment post-snap)...Love lofts the ball over the top, dropping it in the bucket...it hits Jacobs in both hands and he can't bring it in.

Jacobs was Alert read on final 3rd & 5, took vertical route but couldn't haul in pass.

Jacobs motioned out at the snap on the final 3rd & 5 play, gaining outside leverage on his defender; he was the Alert read on the play, designed to be thrown to at the top of the drop if given a specific look, and Love took the vertical route to Jacobs when the Lions stayed in single-high safety coverage; Jacobs had been hit on choice routes close to the line earlier in the game (Angle route on Texas concept in 2nd quarter, out route in 3rd quarter that resulted in TD), making the defense likely aware of this tendency.
