Yahoo Sports NFL on Sam Darnold

Darnold stepped up freely with zero sacks allowed by Chiefs' pass rush.

Quarterback Sam Darnold had a clean pocket against the Chiefs' ineffective pass rush, never having to throw in muddy pockets. He could step up freely to avoid edge rushers R Mason Thomas and George Karlaftis. The Chiefs generated zero sacks and minimal pressure, allowing Darnold to operate comfortably and hit receivers downfield. The source attributes this success partly to the Chiefs' lack of interior pressure from defensive tackles.
