Loveland's early-season struggles contradicted early draft capital investment.

Loveland was drafted early in the offseason but struggled early in the season; his breakout against the Bengals came only after Cole Kmet was knocked out, and while he was on fire by year-end, that late-season success was not the rationale for the early draft capital investment.
