Etienne splits carries with Miller, benched on third down; drops to 53rd overall.

Etienne split carries 46% apiece with Kendrick Miller in Week 1 despite signing a $24M guaranteed deal as a workhorse. He ran only 24 routes on 63 dropbacks (38% route share) and was benched on third down in favor of CJ Donaldson—the second consecutive coaching staff to avoid using him in that role (Jacksonville also benched him on third down). With Alvin Kamara still on the roster, the Saints backfield has three mouths to feed. Jack Miller worries about the three-way split and lack of third-down trust. Ranked 53rd overall (down from early 30s/40s pre-season).
