Daily Norseman on Jordan Mason
ArticleShould the Vikings Trade for Jonathan Taylor?
From the article
Jordan Mason, however, has quietly been a top ten back the past couple seasons in terms of average yards per carry, averaging 5.2 yards per carry in 2024 with the 49ers and 4.8 with the Vikings last season. That has at least equalled that of Taylor over the past two seasons.

Mason's 4.8-5.2 YPC rivals Taylor's; costs half as much to extend.
Jordan Mason has quietly been a top-ten back over the past couple seasons in terms of average yards per carry, averaging 5.2 yards per carry in 2024 with the 49ers and 4.8 with the Vikings last season—equaling Taylor's production over the past two seasons. While Mason was first an elevated backup with the 49ers and then worked by committee with Aaron Jones last season, he has the advantage of not requiring the Vikings to trade draft capital to have him in the backfield. He could be extended for roughly half of what Taylor's salary cap hit would be in the next couple seasons, making him a more cost-effective alternative.
