Braelon Allen just looks great... He's AJ Dillon light... Braelon Allen just had 100 yards in back-to-back games. Breece Hall has never done that in his entire career... Braelon Allen's been great at it. And so, I just wonder if like, hey, Braelon Allen's playing great. He's arguably a better fit for this offense... whenever Breece Hall comes back healthy hypothetically, it would be 60/40 at best in Hall's favor maybe much closer 55/45.
STACKED’s take
Allen's zone-scheme fit makes him a threat to retain 40-45% touches when Hall returns.
Performing at a high level in the Jets backfield, described as "AJ Dillon light" and looking "incredible" despite being perceived as a plodder coming out of college. Allen has emerged as a strong fit for Frank Reich's zone-heavy scheme and is now a legitimate threat to retain significant backfield work when Breece Hall returns from injury. Allen just posted 100 yards in back-to-back games—a feat Hall has never accomplished in his entire career—and is arguably a better fit for the offense than Hall. Ryan Heath projects Allen could retain 40-45% of backfield touches even after Hall's return, suggesting a true committee rather than a quick return to Hall's pre-injury role. When Hall returns, Heath projects a committee split of 60/40 at best in Hall's favor, possibly as close as 55/45.
