Yahoo Sports NFL on Ollie Gordon II

Gordon struggles in short yardage; blown up in backfield on predictable runs.

Ollie Gordon struggled with short-yardage situations in the loss to New England. On first down, many of his runs went for 0 or 1 yard, and while he gained 6-8 yards on second down, the Dolphins failed to wear down the Patriots' defense. More critically, the source references a prior McDaniel-era pattern where Gordon was 'BLOWN UP in the back field' when attempting to gain just 2 yards on known run plays, describing the performance as 'Pathetic.' This suggests Gordon lacks the power or vision to convert short-yardage situations when defenses know the play is coming.
