McVay praises Daniels' development; rookie poised for expanded role over trade deadline move

Rams head coach Sean McVay praised the rookie sixth-round pick, saying he has done "a hell of a job" and deserves "more opportunities." McVay indicated Daniels could be the answer to fill the void left by Davante Adams' injury rather than pursuing a trade deadline acquisition. The source notes McVay won't hand out chances that could hurt the team, suggesting Daniels is being evaluated for meaningful offensive role expansion; the Rams are effectively betting on Daniels stepping up in the second half of the season.
