Sanders likely to start Week 9 with Watson sidelined; chance to audition for starter role.

Shedeur Sanders is positioned to receive significant playing time in Week 9 against the Saints with Deshaun Watson in concussion protocol. Sanders will presumably start unless the coaching staff opts for Dillon Gabriel. The opportunity comes after Sanders recently hired an agent, reportedly to pursue a trade; he now has a chance to make a case for becoming the eventual starter for the Browns or to attract interest from other teams ahead of 2027.
