The Browns will not be giving QB Deshaun Watson a contract extension. He has been a roller coaster and just isn't any degree of the elite signal-caller he once was with Clemson and the Houston Texans.

Watson extension off the table after inconsistent play and injury history.

Watson will not receive a contract extension from Cleveland; the source notes he has been a roller coaster and is not the elite signal-caller he once was. Despite rumblings that a playoff appearance might warrant an extension, those thoughts were questioned after losses to the Jets and Steelers. Watson has completed only two truly great games with Cleveland (Week 10 2023 vs. Ravens, Week 7 2024 vs. Titans) and has missed 57 games since joining in 2022, never completing a full season.
