Yahoo Sports NFL on Chimere Dike
From the article
Dike has 94 kickoff returns so far in his season and a half with the Titans. Only five players in 49ers history (Super Bowl era) have taken more than 75 kickoff returns (Vic Washington, Ted Ginn, Maurice Hicks, Carl Monroe, and Dexter Carter), and Dike's 25.7 yards per those 94 returns would rank second behind only Washington.
STACKED’s take
Elite returner prospect; 25.7 KR avg would rank 2nd in 49ers history.
Zach Wilson presents Chimere Dike as a left-field option for the 49ers if they opt not to pursue premium receiver targets like Garrett Wilson, Adonai Mitchell, or Josh Downs. Wilson frames Dike as a potential solution to the 49ers' long-standing returner issue. Dike has 94 kickoff returns in his season and a half with the Titans, averaging 25.7 yards per return—a pace that would rank second in 49ers history (Super Bowl era) behind only Vic Washington. On 34 punt returns, Dike averages 15.7 yards per return, which would rank first in 49ers history (Super Bowl era) among the 23 players with at least 30 punt returns. Beyond special teams, Dike has 59 receptions for 579 yards on 88 targets. Wilson notes the Titans would have no motivation to move Dike in his second season, but suggests it would cause no harm for the 49ers to call.
