STACKED’s take
Mitchell's 142-yard, TD Week 8 game positions him to capitalize if Wilson misses with concussion.
Mitchell popped in Week 8 with seven catches for 142 yards and a touchdown vs. the Raiders, while rookie Omar Cooper Jr. (who had consecutive 100-yard games in Weeks 6-7) didn't have a single catch. With veteran WR Garrett Wilson in jeopardy of missing the Jets' Week 9 game against the Chiefs with a concussion, Mitchell and Cooper might both be able to eat. However, it's a tough matchup: Steve Spagnuolo's Kansas City defense is allowing the second-fewest fantasy points per game to wide receivers (only the Seahawks allow fewer). Mitchell has an enticing combination of size (6-2, 205) and speed (4.34), and is among the leaders in Fantasy Points' Average Separation Score metric this year. His hands can be erratic and routes imprecise, but with Wilson likely out, the Jets might need him to step up.
