Gordon has been a lot of fun to watch as he breaks out this year, but he is a power-back who works extremely well as a change-of-pace option behind Achane. When he finds space, he is able to break it for a big gain, but it really is boom or bust on each run.

NeutralRole

Gordon's boom-or-bust power style requires scheme adjustment from Achane's speed-based design.

Gordon is a power-back functioning as a change-of-pace option behind De'Von Achane, displaying boom-or-bust performance characteristics. He excels when finding space for big gains but struggles with consistency; the Dolphins' rushing attack was originally designed for Achane's elite sideline-to-sideline speed, and Slowik has adjusted play-calling to match Gordon's one-cut, downhill running style with more gap and inside-zone looks rather than outside zone stretches.
