Waived by the Patriots after a season-ending injury in late July 2025 blocked his path to the 53-man roster. As a second-year fullback, Lampe had shown promise during his rookie offseason and early 2025 training camp, seeing first-team reps as the lone fullback on the roster, but the injury coincided with the team signing veteran Reggie Gilliam to a three-year free-agent contract, making it unrealistic for Lampe to beat out Gilliam in camp.
