Cousins locked in as Raiders QB1 to start camp; Mendoza benched behind him.

Kirk Cousins will open Raiders training camp as the starting quarterback ahead of No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza. Raiders HC Klint Kubiak confirmed Cousins is "the guy" and will get "a ton of reps" because "he's played really good football." Cousins played most first-team reps during spring workouts (OTAs and mandatory minicamp) and was signed in free agency to serve as the Week 1 starter while Mendoza sits and learns.
