Kenneth Gainwell, our next running back. I actually had Gainwell in the Flock League and I was starting him in the flex spot last year, even though we did not have that injury to Jaylen Warren. Look at how dominant this dude was in a full PPR format. We're in week 11, 29 and a half fantasy points. Week 12, 18.2. Like if we go through and look at this, he averaged five targets a game, 4.3 receptions per game... they decided to pay Gainwell 14 million with 9.8 million guaranteed at signing.
STACKED’s take
Dominant PPR back (5 targets/game) with $14M guaranteed; Irving's shoulder surgery creates early-season opportunity.
Kenneth Gainwell was dominant in full PPR formats in the back half of 2024, averaging 5 targets and 4.3 receptions per game with standout weeks (Week 11: 29.5 PPR points, Week 12: 18.2 PPR points). JJ Zachariason started Gainwell in the flex spot in the Flock League despite no injury to Jaylen Warren, highlighting his PPR value. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers paid Gainwell $14 million with $9.8 million guaranteed at signing after losing Rashad White in free agency, signaling strong organizational commitment to Gainwell as the lead back and receiving option. In full PPR formats, Gainwell will be more valuable than half-PPR or non-PPR leagues and could be startable even without a Bucky Irving injury. Bucky Irving is not 100% healthy after shoulder surgery in the offseason and is expected to return at some point in summer or fall, creating uncertainty around his availability early in the season.
