First, I don't think Chuba is very good. Rico outplayed him by a lot last season. Zero runs of 15 or more yards on 134 rush attempts last season. He was dead last in missed tackles forced per attempt. He was second to last in touchdown rate... As that becomes more and more and more apparent when you also look at the plays where Brooks is out there and he's forcing missed tackles, and he's explosive, and he's good in the receiving game, they're going to give him more and more touches.

Hubbard had zero runs of 15+ yards on 134 rush attempts last season (the only RB with 100+ attempts to have none), was dead last in missed tackles forced per attempt, second-to-last in touchdown rate, and third-to-last in yards after contact per attempt. Zachariason expects Hubbard's role to decrease as the season progresses once Jonathan Brooks demonstrates his superiority in explosiveness, receiving ability, and tackle-breaking; Hubbard is not explosive, not great in the receiving game, can't make people miss, and doesn't break tackles—he only gets what's blocked for him. Zachariason recommends avoiding him, especially on a bad offense like the Panthers.
