He's just simply not as good uh in in fantasy...opening schedule of the season at the Texans verse the Lions vers Chargers versus the Patriots at the Rams. That is a brutal opening schedule.

Positioned as the safe alternative to Ashton Jeanty in late first round. Cook posted 1,900+ yards and 14 TDs last season, with 18 TDs two years ago; 32 TDs and 32–33 receptions over the last two years. However, his reception ceiling (32–33 per year) caps his upside compared to backs like Gibbs, Barkley, McCaffrey, and Jeanty who can reach 100+ receptions. Cook is boom-bust week-to-week: historically much worse in losses than wins due to limited receiving role, though no systemic risk exists. Buffalo will score heavily and Cook will have multiple blowup games. Opening schedule (Texans, Lions, Chargers, Patriots, Rams) is brutal and may create early-season volatility. David Montgomery views him as a slight avoid at current ADP despite ranking him above Saquon Barkley.
