Davis is early favorite for Jets backup RB role; effective when given carries.

Zach Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports that Isaiah Davis is the early favorite to be the Jets' backup running back. Davis had two games last year with 7-9 carries, averaging 9.3 yards per carry with the Bengals (including a 50-yard run) and 6.4 yards per carry with the Jaguars (including a 24-yard TD run). The host notes Davis has been effective when given opportunities and could be a real handcuff to Breece Hall, particularly on passing downs, though Frank Reich's system typically uses one RB for running downs and another for passing downs.
