Matt Harmon believes the breakout that happened at the beginning of the season for Rome Odunze was real. He views the Burden vs. Odunze comparison as closer to a toss-up than conventional wisdom suggests, with Odunze having a slight edge from a route separation standpoint and winning at all three levels. Harmon is a big fan of Odunze as a prospect and of his performance in the past season, and fully believes year three can be a monster year for him. Harmon emphasizes that liking both Odunze and Burden is not mutually exclusive and pushes back against the internet narrative that forces a choice between the two receivers on the same team. Odunze has been up and down with injuries; the injury was devastating not just physically but also from a practice reps and communication standpoint within the offense, causing him to fall out of sync with the offense. Odunze will play all over the formation and all three receiver positions, not confined to the X position as conventional wisdom suggests, with no fixed role assignment. He will get reps from the slot and outside, and was doing a lot of the Amon-Ra St. Brown-type work at the beginning of the year.
