Herbert has a career 96.3 passer rating in the regular season but only 64.7 rating in the playoffs; his playoff résumé is really bad for a good quarterback. In his first playoff appearance, the Chargers blew a 27-0 lead at Jacksonville; two postseasons ago he threw four interceptions against Houston; last season he had 159 passing yards and the Chargers scored three points in a loss to New England. After the Patriots loss, when asked if he has confidence to get over the hump and win a playoff game, Herbert said 'Uh, yeah, I don't know. I haven't figured it out yet, and it hasn't happened yet so we'll have to reevaluate and see what happens.' Playoff failures are now part of his story and will remain until he wins at least one postseason game.
