Montgomery reclaims goal-line role in Houston after being phased out in Detroit.

Montgomery was phased out in Detroit as Jahmyr Gibbs took on more responsibility, losing goal-line touchdown opportunities. Traded to Houston, Montgomery will share the backfield with Woody Marks but should be the primary goal-line back. The Texans need physicality and a solid rushing attack to pair with their defense, and Montgomery will be a major factor in that plan given C.J. Stroud's 2025 struggles.
