James Cook receptions thing... James Cook, if you look at his receptions, he's basically Jonathan Taylor... Pete Carmichael has been vocal um at times in the off offseason, but definitely more recently and into camp about getting James Cook more receptions... if those come now, we could be talking about him as a running back... I'm going to flip him over Genty. I think you have to put James Cook over Genty... there's a discussion to be had if it's JT or Cook
STACKED’s take
Carmichael targeting more receptions; potential elite-tier RB if it materializes.
Major ranking shift based on training camp reports of increased receptions from offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael. Historically Cook lacks receptions in games where Buffalo trails, but Carmichael's emphasis on throwing to running backs (similar to his Payton-era approach in New Orleans and Denver) suggests this could change. If receptions materialize, Cook becomes elite-tier RB with ground game and TD upside already established. The source is flipping Cook over Gentry and considering him in Jonathan Taylor tier discussion for mid-first-round consideration alongside Gibbs, Bijan, and McCaffrey. The source is increasing draft allocation for Cook given his rising rankings.
