Quinton Johnston, I mean, I've been drafting him a lot this season... he's going to get a lot of the underneath looks. Those are the layup looks... Those are routes where Mike McDaniel says, 'Okay, just drop back instantly throw it to Quinton Johnson on a screen pass, a drag route'

Highly athletic TD scorer with consistent underneath looks from McDaniel.
Hampton has been drafting Quentin Johnston a lot this season despite acknowledging he's not the most talented wide receiver. Hampton likes him as a highly athletic touchdown scorer who will get a lot of underneath looks—layup routes that elevate his floor. Mike McDaniel will use him on screen passes and drag routes to get him moving fast; these underneath targets provide consistent production (e.g., three receptions for 40 yards baked in weekly) even when downfield shots aren't hitting. Hampton would double-dip on both Maleik Lemon and Johnston if he could.
