Video: The Draft Strategy I'm Betting My Entire Fantasy Season On
Christian McAffrey was by far the most valuable player in fantasy football. I'm not telling you anything you don't know, but when we actually quantify this, he was worth 3.2 wins above replacement.

McCaffrey's 3.2 WAR was most valuable in fantasy; extreme value concentration at top.

McCaffrey was the most valuable player in fantasy football last season, quantified at 3.2 wins above replacement (WAR)—the difference between a 6-8 record missing playoffs and a 9-5 contending for a top-two seed. His dominance was so extreme that the gap between him and the eighth-ranked player (Trey McBride) equaled the gap from McBride all the way down to the 40th-ranked player (Jameson Williams). He was the best price-adjusted early-round running back pick of the era, delivering elite wins above replacement relative to draft capital in 2025, and is listed as one of the best five price-adjusted running back seasons from 2025.
