Fields getting first-team reps with Chiefs; will benefit from Mahomes' preseason absence.

Fields, who joined the Chiefs this offseason after a year with the Jets, saw his first reps with the first-team offense on Thursday. Head coach Andy Reid indicated that Fields and rookie Garrett Nussmeier will benefit from the additional reps Mahomes would have gotten in the preseason, stating: "We've got new people behind [Mahomes] that need some work. The more reps they get, the better."
