Daily Norseman on J.J. McCarthy
ArticleVikings Training Camp Notes: 8/8 Edition
From the article
For McCarthy in 11-on-11 team drills, he had one attempt in which he scrambled and may have been sacked but threw down the field to Tai Felton, who made the catch though the ball was low. However, a flag on the play negated it. He had another attempt to Felton- roughly 15 yards- that was broken up by Charles Demmings.
STACKED’s take
NeutralProjection
McCarthy's limited downfield attempts negated or incomplete in camp drills.
In 11-on-11 team drills, McCarthy had limited success against the Vikings defense. He scrambled on one attempt and threw to Tai Felton, who made the catch despite a low ball, but the play was negated by a flag. On another attempt to Felton roughly 15 yards downfield, Charles Demmings broke up the pass with tight coverage. Beyond those plays, McCarthy's attempts were short passes, not all of which connected. The source credits the Vikings defense for limiting both quarterbacks to short completions.
