I was on the clock at seven. I took Jonathan Taylor. I knew that that wall of running backs that you see, Gentry, Chase Brown, Walker, Hampton, Barkley, I basically did the math before this draft started and I realized no chance was I going to be able to get one of those guys.

1.7 anchor pick; best available RB after elite tier

Aj Brown took Jonathan Taylor at pick 1.7 as the anchor of his team after calculating that the wall of elite running backs (Gentry, Chase Brown, Walker, Hampton, Barkley) would be unavailable by his turn; Taylor represents the best available running back value at that draft position. Selected as starting running back in week-one lineup.
