Josh Jacobs, not a particularly like great player or anything like that, but his game logs in 2025 were fine. This is like exactly what you think of in terms of being able to produce and pay off a round four price tag. What version of Josh Jacobs am I getting? I mean Jacobs really actually looking at my roster is the most important guy for me here because if he shows more signs of clear decline with the groin issue that he has right now and the knee issue that he had last year, I am not going to feel particularly good.

Round 4 lead back with suspension and injury risk; most important roster piece

AJ Brown selected Josh Jacobs in round 4 as the clear lead back despite acknowledging he is not a particularly great player. Jacobs' 2025 game logs were fine and represent exactly what you'd expect from a round 4 price tag. If he avoids suspension entirely, Brown believes Jacobs would be preferable to DeAndre Swift and likely ahead of Breece Hall if there's no suspension risk and he recovers well from his groin injury. However, Brown identifies Jacobs as the most important player on his roster and expresses significant concern about decline risk tied to current groin issues and prior knee injury, stating he will not feel good about his team if Jacobs shows further signs of decline. Brown may start Debo Samuel over Jacobs in week one, and Jacobs is part of his starting lineup but represents a key injury/health concern.
