Murray signed with the Vikings on a veteran's minimum salary of $1.3 million after the Cardinals paid a $54.7 million dead cap hit to move on from him, making him a value pick at the middle of the draft; the main benefit of adding Murray was that the Vikings could start someone other than J.J. McCarthy, whom they named QB1 on Aug. 11 despite his poor performance.
