Smith is a seventh-round draft pick battling for one roster spot with Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Jonathan Mingo, Traeshon Holden, Camden Brown, and Denzel Mims. From what has been seen, it doesn't look likely he will outshine the competition. His status as a seventh-round draft pick isn't enough investment from the team to feel uncomfortable parting with him, and without some splash moments during the preseason, it's not looking good for the rookie receiver.
