Watson had torn ACL surgery and returned to be half PPR's WR17 per game all in the span of the same calendar year. His fantastic return from injury allowed him to sign a 4-year, $110M extension with the Packers, arguably a tier higher than many expected. It's similar to the Alec Pierce deal. This year, Watson should play a career high in snaps. The Packers let Romeo Doubs walk, then traded away Dontayvion Wicks. It'll be Watson, 2025 1st-rounder Matthew Golden, and well-paid slot Jayden Reed in 3-WR sets, and the depth behind them is the worst it's been in forever. Coach Matt LaFleur said there were issues with rotating receivers, a signal Watson could flirt with 90% snaps when healthy. Watson's history of soft tissue and knee injuries are a concern, but he is healthy right now, just 27 years old, and an elite athlete, even by NFL standards. With the Packers projected for the 8th-most points this year and with Watson coming off a WR4 year in EPA per target, we should be aiming for the untapped fantasy upside. Watson is a bargain late in Round 5 as the WR30, especially in half PPR best ball where his value is highest. I expect him to be more consistent than ever in 2026, too.
