Practicing in team periods for the second straight day — a first in his recovery from a torn ACL — during training camp, Nabers made a leaping catch Tuesday as two defensive backs pulled up and heeded the team message not to bump the star receiver. He won't go through the rest of the summer in a red jersey. He's going to have to get bumped around and hit and fronted up. I've always been hopeful that he would play in [Week 1 of] the regular season. Still don't know for sure, so we just have to see where we go day to day.

Nabers progressing well in ACL recovery; Week 1 return still possible but not certain.

Nabers is progressing in ACL recovery; practicing in team periods for the second straight day (a first in his recovery) during training camp and handling increased reps well. Head coach John Harbaugh said he's 'always been hopeful' Nabers would play Week 1 against the Cowboys, though the coach cautioned 'still don't know for sure.' Nabers is currently wearing a noncontact red jersey and will need to progress through contact drills before being cleared for regular-season play; Harbaugh noted 'he's going to have to get bumped around and hit and fronted up' and that the team uses 'certain formulas' to determine risk factors and workload.
