Homer leads RB3 race but hasn't secured it; mixed performance vs. Packers.

Travis Homer emerged as the sudden favorite for the Steelers' RB3 spot after starting against the Packers with Jaylen Warren and Rico Dowdle resting. Homer averaged just two yards per carry on a rough outing for the offensive line and was steamrolled in pass protection on one rep that resulted in a sack, but showed solid traits including extensive snaps on special teams as the personal protector on the punt unit and two catches in the dump-off passing game. His 53-man roster odds have increased, but he hasn't run away with the RB3 job yet, and the source expects only one running back spot available behind Dowdle and Warren.
