Mendoza struggled in the preseason game against Houston's second and third-string defense, completing 8 of 15 passes for 86 yards with one interception and a quarterback rating of 42.6. He threw an 80-yard Pick Six to rookie linebacker Wade Woodaz on a bad throw behind his target.
