Kevin Stefanski's arrival as Atlanta's coach is significant because he previously worked with Harold Fannin Jr. in Cleveland and had a versatile tight end he could move around the formation and manufacture touches for. Now Stefanski has Pitts, who can do the same things. In Atlanta's preseason with starters, Pitts was targeted on all four legitimate Tua Tagovailoa attempts and caught three passes for 22 yards, showing early intent to involve him. Tua wants the football out quickly and may not sit in the pocket waiting for routes to develop downfield, which could help Pitts if Stefanski gives him easy throws underneath, play-action looks and opportunities over the middle.
