Yahoo Fantasy Football on Nicholas Singleton
From the article
Singleton is a fifth-round rookie who broke his foot during Senior Bowl week and missed the majority of the pre-draft process. However, both players are entering the final year of their contracts, with Pollard on the backside of his career at 29 years old and Spears never proving he was worthy of the starting job. That's where Singleton could win over the new coaching and carve out a role in Year 1. After all, offensive coordinator Brian Daboll has a history of giving us some fantasy surprises with Day 3 backs over the last couple years.
STACKED’s take
Singleton's Daboll connection and veteran competition create path to lead-back role.
Singleton, a fifth-round rookie who broke his foot during Senior Bowl week and missed most of the pre-draft process, landed in Tennessee's crowded backfield behind Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears. However, both veterans are in final contract years, with Pollard at 29 on the backside of his career and Spears never proving worthy of the starting job. Offensive coordinator Brian Daboll has a history of elevating Day 3 backs—Tyrone Tracy Jr. (fifth-round) overtook Singletary two seasons ago, and Cam Skattebo (fourth-round) stole Tracy's role last year. Singleton has three-down potential with serious straight-line speed, explosive big-play ability for his size (6-foot, 219 pounds), and capable pass-catching skills. He could carve out a role in Year 1 or emerge if the Titans fall out of playoff contention.
