Video: Answering 2026 Fantasy Football's BIGGEST Questions - The Caleb Williams Debate!
Caleb Williams makes these insane wow plays that only a few other quarterbacks can make. It's really cool, but it's also overrated... he's really priced at his ceiling. He's QB7 on sleepers, QB7 on Yahoo... he's literally bottom 10 in everything, but you got those five plays in the back of your mind... he has not arrived yet. He needs to take a big step forward.

Negative signalProjection

Priced at QB7 ceiling despite bottom-10 efficiency metrics and excessive negative plays.

Despite being priced at his ceiling (QB7 on Sleepers and Yahoo), Caleb Williams is overrated as a fantasy asset. His highlight-reel throws are statistically rare and matter far less than consistent accuracy and avoiding negative plays; one wow play does not offset three turnover-worthy throws plus four sacks. He ranked 14th in the NFL last year despite playing with Ben Johnson, the best play caller in the league, largely because he takes so many negative plays. He is dramatically below average in completion percentage over expectation, success rate, adjusted yards per attempt, and passer rating—literally bottom 10 in every major efficiency metric. He is also below average in hero throw rate, meaning his clutch reputation is driven by a few bright-light moments rather than a sticky skill. He ranks 25th in EPA per dropback over the last two years (14th last year specifically). He needs to take a big step forward before he arrives as a fantasy asset.
