McCarthy's backup role threatened by Carson Wentz's strong preseason performance.

McCarthy is listed second on the Vikings' unofficial depth chart behind starter Kyler Murray, but the source indicates his position is in jeopardy; veteran Carson Wentz's strong preseason performance could lead Kevin O'Connell to elevate Wentz to the backup role ahead of McCarthy.
