Brett Rypien may not make the final roster. Given that Houston only had four total QBs in camp and Mertz is out for the season, the team will at least want another arm with some experience with the squad. While not making people think of his uncle Mark during his 1991 MVP season, Rypien did play better in this game (13 of 23, 101 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT)

Brett Rypien may not make the final roster, but given Houston only had four total QBs in camp and Mertz is out for the season, the team will want another arm with experience; Rypien showed improvement with more reps (13 of 23, 101 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT) and having him as an emergency QB would not be the worst thing, though the final drive failures rested more with a porous offensive line than Rypien himself.
