Rice has become a condensed, scheme-dependent version of his rookie self, pigeonholed into a role relying on scheme and athleticism rather than developing into a complete receiver. His target rate increased from 19% (2023) to 29% (2025), but his aDOT declined to 4.3 and over a third of his targets come in 2.5 seconds or less; across three seasons he has only 10 targets of 20+ air yards. Unless playing in leagues with reception bonuses, Rice's on-field deployment may not translate to fantasy wins.
