Jack Strand is the developmental quarterback option in the Falcons' four-quarterback roster. Strand is undrafted and the Falcons retained him to continue his development. GM Cunningham explained that Strand was subject to waivers and could have been claimed by another team, so the Falcons kept him as part of their 'draft, develop, retain' philosophy. Strand has been productive during the preseason. He is not in contention for the Week 1 starter role.
