The workout stems from the Packers' quarterback depth chart needs after releasing Kyron Drones in Week 1 and trading QB3 Kyle McCord to Miami; the team carries only three QBs this preseason and has one remaining practice squad spot open. Plummer, an undrafted free agent from the 2024 class who spent his rookie year on Carolina's practice squad before being waived last August, resurfaced in the UFL where he threw 17 touchdown passes and one interception with the Orlando Storm. He has also worked out with the San Francisco 49ers, Miami Dolphins, Detroit Lions, and New York Jets since the UFL season.
