Last season, Ladd McConkey was a high-end wide receiver four in fantasy football. Ladd McConkey averaged 11.3 fantasy points per game. And if I'm going to be honest with you, it actually is worse than that if you consider the fact that some of these games that Ladd played well in, it's because Quentin Johnston, who was the wide receiver one for this team last year, just look at the numbers, was missing. Ladd McConkey jumped up to being the wide receiver 25 in points per game. And in the games in which Quentin Johnston played, Ladd McConkey was the wide receiver 41... I'm not ranking him as a mid wide receiver four... I think if we look at the larger sample, it may make more sense to rank him as a lower tier wide receiver two... if I could try to selling Ladd McConkey and pivot over to Emeka Egbuka... I would love to do so.

Sell-high candidate despite improved situation; hype around Chargers offense (new OC, upgraded OL, Keenan Allen departure reducing target competition) is overblown relative to actual production. Last season was high-end WR4 averaging 11.3 PPG, and performance was artificially inflated by Quentin Johnston's absence. When Johnston played, McConkey ranked as WR41 in PPG; when Johnston missed, McConkey jumped to WR25 in PPG. Ranked as lower-tier WR2 rather than WR1, placing him in a massive tier with Tee Higgins, Jaylen Waddle, DeVonta Smith, Emeka Egbuka, Tutu Atwell, and Garrett Wilson. While McConkey will be better than last year, he has the most hype relative to his actual tier placement, making him a sell-high candidate to pivot to similar-tier receivers with less market premium.
