McLaurin finally has a legitimate volume receiver alongside him in Stefon Diggs, who Washington signed late this offseason on a one-year deal. For the first time in his career, I think McLaurin will be more of a 1B, particularly serving as the downfield threat and field-stretcher to Diggs' possession role underneath. The Eagles, who allowed just six touchdowns to wideouts last season, tied with the Broncos for fewest in the league. Philly was particularly tough against outside wide receivers in 2025, where McLaurin will likely line up the vast majority of the time.

McLaurin scored 13 TDs and was WR6 overall two years ago but scored just three TDs, missed seven games, and was WR35 in PPG last year, with 2024 being an outlier after scoring 4-5 TDs in each of the prior four seasons. He now faces legitimate volume competition for the first time in his career with Stefon Diggs, who Washington signed late this offseason on a one-year deal. Diggs logged an 83.3% catch rate, 11.9 yards per reception, and 2.4 yards per route run with New England last year, positioning McLaurin as a 1B field-stretcher to Diggs' possession role underneath. With Washington's highly-suspect offensive line, the possession role is preferable for fantasy consistency. McLaurin opens against the Eagles, who allowed just six touchdowns to wideouts last season (tied for fewest) and were particularly tough against outside wide receivers in 2025, where McLaurin will line up the vast majority of the time. He is outside WR2 range and probably just outside FLEX range.
