McConkey's injury and Raiders' improved defense push Herbert outside top-12 QB consideration.

Herbert's fantasy prospects are significantly hampered by the loss of Ladd McConkey, his best receiver and offensive engine. With McConkey on the field in Week 1, Herbert averaged 6.3 yards per play, 10.3 yards per attempt, and a 128.4 passer rating on 17 dropbacks with a 47.1% first-down rate. Without McConkey, those numbers collapsed to 4.2 yards per play, 5.4 yards per attempt, 42.3 passer rating, and 11.8% first-down rate on 17 dropbacks. McConkey suffered a rib injury and is day-to-day; even if he plays Sunday, he will likely be limited. Additionally, the Raiders significantly improved their defense this offseason and showed impact in Week 1 with Nakobe Dean, Kwity Paye, Quay Walker, Treydan Stukes, and Maxx Crosby (1.5 sacks). The source ranks Herbert outside the top 12 quarterbacks for Week 2.
