Mahomes showed health and second-half form; early rust expected post-ACL return.

In Week 1 returning from a torn ACL, Mahomes completed 15 of 27 passes for 184 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Maurice Elston notes he didn't completely look like his old self but did look healthy, which was the most important thing. Mahomes demonstrated his knee is fine, he can still scramble and make plays outside the pocket. He showed early rust (2 of 12 to start) but settled down, completing 13 of his final 15 attempts including two touchdown passes. Elston expects he is getting back to form and may not be completely back yet but the second half trajectory is encouraging.
