Manning traded from Chargers to Giants in 2004; two-time Super Bowl MVP.

Manning was selected first overall in the 2004 NFL draft but refused to play for the San Diego Chargers; Accorsi, picking fourth overall, acquired Manning by trading the rights to North Carolina State QB Philip Rivers and a 2005 first-round pick. Over a 16-year career entirely with the Giants, Manning was twice named Super Bowl MVP and took ownership of most of the franchise's significant passing records by a wide margin. Manning stated he called Accorsi every draft week for the last 12+ years to thank him for the trade and believing in him.
